This morning, at around 9:30 a.m. (0930hrs), the Police were informed of a traffic accident on Triq iż-Żebbiegħ, Mġarr.
Police officers immediately went to the scene, and preliminary investigations showed that a 70-year-old woman residing in Mġarr was hit by a Ford Transit driven by a 39-year-old man, also residing in Mġarr.
A medical team was called to the scene, and an ambulance took the woman to Mater Dei Hospital, where she was certified as having suffered serious injuries.
Magistrate Dr Franco Agius LL.D. has appointed an inquiry, while Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
