Woman in serious condition after fall
Yesterday, at around five in the afternoon (1700 hrs), the Police were informed that assistance was needed at a residence in Triq ta ‘Berrini, Kerċem.
 
Preliminary investigations by the District Police found that a 72-year-old woman from Kerċem fell a storey height into a shaft.
 
Members from the Civil Protection Department, a medical team and an ambulance were called on site to take the victim to Gozo General Hospital for treatment. She was later certified to have sustained grievous injuries.
Magistrate Dr Jean Paul Grech LL. D was informed of the case and opened a Magisterial Inquiry while Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
