Woman arrested and arraigned in court in connection with drug trafficking

A 37-year-old woman was arrested after the Police received information indicating that she was involved in drug trafficking.

During a search carried out at her residence in St. Julian’s yesterday morning, officers found a number of packets and bags containing substances suspected to be cocaine, ecstasy, MDMA, ketamine, tusi, and cannabis resin, along with other items related to drug trafficking.

The Magistrate, Dr Philip Galea Farrugia LL.D., was informed of the discovery and appointed a magisterial inquiry.

Earlier today, the Police arraigned the woman under arrest before Magistrate Dr Ann Marie Thake LL.D., charged with aggravated possession and trafficking of drugs, as well as money laundering, among other offences. She pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded in custody at the Corradino Correctional Facility.
