At around 0845hrs, the Police were informed that their assistance was needed in an apartment in Triq il-Gardiel, Marsascala.

The Police went on site and found the woman with a sharp and pointed object. She walked towards the Police with the weapon  in an aggressive manner, so they were constrained to use the taser gun. An injured man was found in the apartment.

Preliminary investigations showed that an argument had occured between the man, aged 23 years, and the 22-year-old woman, in which a sharp and pointed object was allegedly used.

A medical team assisted the two persons who were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

Later, the man was certified with grievous injuries and the woman with slight injuries.

Magistrate Dr Antoine Agius Bonnici LL. D was informed of this case while Police investigations are ongoing.

The woman is expected to be arraigned in Court during the coming days.
