Two persons injured in separate traffic accidents
A man and a woman were taken to Mater Dei Hospital after they were injured in two separate traffic accidents earlier this morning.
 
The first accident occurred at around half past ten in the morning (1030 hrs), in Triq tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. Preliminary investigations showed that a 50-year-old woman from Zabbar lost control of the Toyota Auris vehicle and crashed into a wall. A 28-year-old woman from Ħal Safi was also in the vehicle.
 
The second accident occurred at around eleven in the morning (1045 hrs), in Burmarrad Road, Burmarrad. Preliminary investigations revealed that there was a collision between a Land Rover driven by a 66-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay and a Piaggio Vespa motorcycle driven by a 33-year-old man from Swieqi.
 
A medical team assisted in the two incidents and the motorcyclist as well as the 28-year-old passenger in the Toyota vehicle were taken to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. They were later certified to have sustained grievous injuries.
 
Police investigations are ongoing.
