Three persons arrested in connection with illegal cultivation of cannabis
Police work continues in the fight against drug trafficking, with the arrest of two other persons and the discovery of some 100 grams of allegedly heroin, with a market value of almost 13,000 euro.
 
In recent days the Police carried out surveillance on a 49-year-old man, a resident of Għaxaq, who is allegedly suspected of drug trafficking. This surveillance led to suspicious movements being noted by this person.He was seen on several occasions frequenting an area in the Ħal Farruġ area, where yesterday morning he was stopped by the Police while using a range Rover vehicle.
 
A block containing a substance suspected to be heroin was found during a search in a nearby wall, while two other blocks of the same drug were found.
 
Searches continued at the man’s residence in Għaxaq and at the residence of a 29-year-old woman in Tarxien. Various items related to drug trafficking, a number of mobile phones and a considerable amount of cash were seized from these places.

The man will be arraigned in Court this morning at around half past ten (1030 hrs) before Magistrate Dr Lara Lanfranco LL. D.
Police investigations into this case are ongoing.
