Two people injured in separate traffic accidents

Yesterday and early this morning, a man and a woman were taken to Mater Dei Hospital after being injured in two separate traffic accidents.

The first accident occurred yesterday, at around 2215hrs, in Birkirkara Street, St. Julian’s. Initial investigations revealed that a 45-year-old Croatian man living in St. Julian’s lost control of the TVS Jupiter 125 motorbike he was riding and fell.

The second accident occurred at around 0500hrs, in Mdina Road, Attard. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 35-year-old woman from Rabat suffered injuries after losing control of the Ford Fiesta she was driving and overturned.

A medical team provided assistance in both incidents where both people were taken to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. They were later certified with grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
