Man arrested for trafficking drugs in Paceville

Two men were arrested when during traffic checks carried out yesterday, they were found in possession of drugs, allegedly ready for trafficking.

In the first case, a 26-year-old man living in Żejtun, was arrested during traffic checks in Dawret il-Gudja, Gudja. While being interviewed, the man was seen throwing something onto the back seat. From a search carried out on him and in the vehicle, sachets containing substances suspected of being cannabis grass, MDMA, around 20 tablets suspected of being ecstasy and sachets containing pink powder were found, as well as three mobile phones and cash.

Therefore, searches continued at the residence where he lives in Triq l-Isqof Antonia Zahra, Żejtun. There, the Police found grinders and bags containing suspected cannabis particles as well as fake money and fake firearm.

Meanwhile, later, during another traffic control at the Mrieħel Bypass, a 21-year-old man and residing in Birkirkara, was arrested after raising suspicions that he may have some illegal substances in his car. A search was carried out and sachets containing suspected cannabis, cocaine, pink powder and a grinder were found.

Investigations are ongoing.
