Two arrested in connection with theft

Two men, aged 38 and 51, were arrested following investigations in connection with a theft and attempted theft from private residences in Mgarr and Għaxaq.

The first case occurred on the 19th October, at a residence in Triq Sir Temi Zammit, Mġarr. It resulted that one or more unknown persons had broken the front door of the residence and around €18,000 in cash were stolen.

The second case goes back to the 26th October, when the Police were informed that a person had forced open the front door of a house in Triq San Filippu, Għaxaq. However, for some reason, the alleged thief fled the scene without stealing anything.

In connection with these cases, the two men suspected to be involved were identified. They are expected to be arraigned in Court today at around 1330 hrs infront of Magistrate Dr Marseann Farrugia LL.D.
