Last night, the Police arrested three men after they allegedly fired shots in each other’s direction.

At around 2230hrs, assistance was requested in Triq Santa Klara, Naxxar.

The Police went immediately on site where they noticed a broken driveway gate and some persons on the inside.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a 41-year-old man residing in Qormi, allegedly, rammed the gate with a vehicle, disembarked and allegedly started shooting at a house. He then fled the scene with his vehicle. At the time there were two men and three women at the residence, none of whom were injured.

A search immediately began for the vehicle, Mercedes, and for the person involved. At around 0230hrs, the wanted man turned himself in at the Qormi Police Station and was arrested. At the station he alleged that some shots had been fired in his direction by the two men who were at the said residence, but he was not injured.

From further investigations, later in the night, the 41-year-old man’s vehicle was found parked on the Coast Road where it was damaged and bearing bullet holes.  The vehicle was searched but no firearm was found.

The Police went back to the Naxxar residence and following a search, a shotgun was elevated and the two men, aged 64 and 35, were arrested.
