Three arrested in connection with drug trafficking
Three persons were arrested yesterday afternoon in Mosta following an investigation in connection with alleged drug trafficking. This investigation led to the discovery of around 1.3 kg of allegedly cocaine, with a market value of 160,000 euro.
 
In recent days the Police carried out surveillance on a 31-year-old man, who is allegedly the main suspect in drug trafficking. This surveillance led to suspicious movements being noticed by this person, mainly at night.
 
He was seen on several occasions leaving a residence in Triq Grognet and frequenting an apartment in Triq Rużar Briffa where the other two persons, a 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, allegedly lived.
 
From a search carried out at the two residences, apart from cocaine, various items related to drug trafficking were also seized, as well as a number of mobiles and jewellery.
 
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia LL was informed of the case. D who has appointed an inquiry.The arrested persons are being detained at the Floriana Police lock-up and are expected to be arraigned in Court in the coming days. Investigations are ongoing.
