Routine traffic road checks

(PR 435/25)

The Police together with LESA officials continued to carry out routine road inspections, where a number of drivers were fined in connection with traffic regulations breaches.

During one of these inspections early yesterday morning at Tal-Barrani road, Żejtun officials issued several fines to 17 drivers in connection with various irregularities, while another 4 drivers were fined after they were found driving without a licence.

One of these drivers was stopped while riding a motorcycle and was found to be only 16 years old. The motorcycle was immediately taken by the Police while further investigations are underway.

While the appeal remains for drivers to observe traffic regulations in respect of their lives and the lives of other road users, the work of the Police in this regard will continue on various roads and times around Malta and Gozo.
