Routine traffic checks continue

(PR 539/25)

During this week, the police continued with more routine checks on various roads around Malta.

During these traffic checks carried out, among others, in Zebbug, Qormi, St Paul’s Bay, Luqa, Paola, Birzebbuga, Zejtun, Msida, Hamrun and Kirkop, the Police found some 20 drivers driving without a valid licence and 4 drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

During the same inspections, 24 vehicles were found to be driven over the permitted speed limit, including a vehicle being driven at a speed of 137 kilometres per hour in an area of 70 kilometres per hour. Some 150 other contraventions related to different traffic regulations breaches were also issued.

LESA officials also assisted the Police in some of these checks.

The Malta Police Force remains committed to continue with traffic controls regularly at all times of the day, with the aim of safeguarding the safety of all those who use our roads.
