Police dismantle organized crime group involved in drug importation and trafficking

After weeks of investigation and surveillance, utilizing “Intelligence-Led Policing”, Police have successfully dismantled an organised criminal group responsible for drug importation and trafficking across Europe.

On Saturday morning, acting on the gathered intelligence, officers surrounded an apartment block on Alfred Craig Street in Tal-Pietà.

During the operation, police arrested three men and one woman, all of whom are Romanian nationals. From the apartments, police seized approximately 10 kilograms of cannabis, valued at around €150,000. Additionally, another Romanian suspect was arrested at a hotel in Gzira.

The arrested men are 36, 40 and 44 years old, and the woman is 33 years old, respectively.

The persons are expected to be arraigned in Court later today.
