Persons injured in separate traffic accidents
Two persons were taken to Mater Dei Hospital yesterday after they were injured in separate traffic accidents.
 
The first accident occurred at around half past eleven in the morning (1130 hrs), in Vjal L-Indipendenza, Mosta.
 
Preliminary investigations showed that a 65-year-old woman from Zebbug was hit by a Honda motorcycle driven by a 33-year-old man from San Ġwann.
 
The second incident happened at around five in the afternoon (1645 hrs), in Triq Sant ‘Andrija, Pembroke. Preliminary investigations revealed that a collision occurred between a Toyota Yaris cross driven by a 35-year-old man from Mosta and a Benelli motorcycle driven by a 27-year-old man from Msida.
 
A medical team assisted in both accidents, where the 65-year-old woman and the 27-year-old man were taken to hospital by ambulance, where they were certified to have sustained grievous injuries.
