A 43-year-old Englishman unfortunately lost his life while he was in Blue Lagoon Bay, Comino.
At around 1300hrs, the Police were informed that assistance was needed because a man had just taken a slide down into the water from a tourist catamaran and found himself in difficulty.
He was given first medical assistance by ERRC members and was then taken to Mgarr Harbour, Gozo.
At the harbour, there was a medical team from Gozo General Hospital for further assistance, but unfortunately the man was certified dead soon after arriving in hospital.
Magistrate Dr Brigitte Sultana LL.D was informed of the case and an inquiry was opened.
Police investigations are ongoing.
