Man suffers grevious injuries in Gozo

On Friday 2nd May, at around half an hour (0030 hrs), the Police were informed by the health authorities that medical assistance was requested as a person sustained injuries in Triq Fuq il-Għajn, Għajnsielem.
 
The Police immediately went to the scene where a 43-year-old man, a resident of Xewkija, was found with injuries allegedly caused by a pointed instrument. The officers carried out a search in the area where they identified the alleged aggressor, a 35-year-old German national, where he was immediately arrested.
 
The two persons were taken by ambulance to the Gozo General Hospital where the 43-year-old man was later certified to have sustained grievous injuries.
 
Police investigations into this case are ongoing.
