A 50-year-old man suffered burns in an incident that occurred yesterday evening at his residence in Triq il-Ħtajriet, Mosta.
At around 7:30 p.m. (1930 hrs), the Police were informed that the man had sustained injuries while on the roof of his residence. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man suffered burns when, for some reason, fuel he was using to light a barbecue (BBQ) spilled onto him.
A medical team, together with members of the Civil Protection Department, immediately arrived at the scene and provided assistance. He was taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was later certified as suffering from serious injuries.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
