Today, at around 1200hrs, the Police were informed that assistance was needed at a construction site in the limits of the University of Malta, Msida.
Preliminary investigations showed that a 47-year-old worker from Żabbar sustained injuries while using machinery.
He was assisted by a medical team and then taken to hospital by ambulance. He was later certified to have sustained serious injuries.
Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed and opened an inquiry while Police investigations, together with those of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are ongoing.
