Man injured after a fall in Santa Venera

Today, at around noon (1200hrs), the Police were informed that assistance was needed at a building which is under construction in Carini Street, Santa Venera.

The Police immediately went to the scene and from a preliminary investigation it resulted that a man, whose identity is still unknown, was carrying out some works and fell from a height of approximately three storeys.

A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department assisted the man and he was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified to have suffered serious injuries.

Magistrate Dr Philip Galea Farrugia LL.D was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry.

Investigations by the Police, as well as those of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are still ongoing.
