A 22-year-old Norwegian man unfortunately lost his life after finding himself in difficulty while he was in a jacuzzi at a Sliema residence.

It was at around 1015hrs, when the Police were informed that their assistance was needed in Viani Street.

The Police, together with a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital went immediately on site, where they found the man unconscious. The victim was given first aid but unfortunately he was certified dead on the spot.

Magistrate Dr Antoine Agius Bonnici LL.D was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing, however it appears that the death does not appear to be a suspicious one.
