Man dies following an argument in Bidnija

(PR 319/25)

Today, at around 0800hrs, the Police were informed that their assistance was needed in the area of Bidnija.

The Police went immediately on site and preliminary investigations showed that earlier a collision had occurred between a motorcycle and a car, where no one had been injured.

Subsequently, while LESA Officers were onsite to file a report, an argument broke out between the two drivers and the motorcyclist allegedly took out a firearm and fired some shots at the other driver.

The victim got into the vehicle and tried to drive to the hospital, however when he arrived in Burmarrad he called for an ambulance.

Unfortunately, the victim, a 53-year-old man residing in Bidnija, was certified dead soon after arriving in hospital, while the alleged aggressor, a 46-year-old man also living in Bidnija, was arrested on site.

The Police are still searching for the weapon used during this case, while Magistrate Dr Ian Farrugia LL.D was informed and appointed an inquiry.
