Man arrested in Marsa during traffic control

(PR 21/25) 

Yesterday at around quarter past three in the afternoon (1515 hrs), during a routine traffic control carried out in Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa, Marsa, the Police observed a vehicle skippingtraffic and changing direction after the driver noticed the presence of the Police.
 
Officers immediately followed the vehicle, a Range Rover, and made a signal to the driver to stop where eventually the vehicle was stopped.
 
It resulted from investigations that the driver, a 19-year-old, did not have a valid driving licence or insurance. It was also confirmed that he was breaching several Court conditions in connection with his release from custody.
 
Two minors, aged 11 and 12, were also in the vehicle with the 19-year-old man.
 
He was arrested, while the vehicle was confiscated as part of investigations.
 
He will be arraigned in court later today.
