Man arrested in connection with various thefts

In recent hours, a 24-year-old Albanian was arrested following relentless investigations in connection with various thefts which were reported over the past months.

Police had been informed that a person had entered properties and stole a number of things ranging between cash, workers’ bags, laptops, mobiles and other electronic devices, among others.

Investigations revealed that the thefts were committed from hotels and restaurants in St Julian’s, private offices in Qormi and from a residence for the elderly in Luqa.

After analysing a number of videos from the locations where the thefts took place, they all indicated that it was allegedly the same person who committed the crime.

Intensive investigations led to the identification of the alleged thief, and this also led to his arrest.

He is expected to be arraigned in Court in the coming days.
