Man arrested in connection with drug trafficking in Hamrun
 
 

Yesterday at around 1530 hrs, while the police were on patrol in Trejqet San Pietru, Hamrun, noticed a person allegedly passing a package containing a substance suspected to be drugs to another person.

The man, a 36-year-old Libyan national, was stopped by the Police and from a search, they found

28 sachets with a substance suspected to be a synthetic drug, together with an iron fist and an amount of cash.

Police also carried out a search at the man’s residence in Triq il-Farfett, Marsa, where more synthetic drugs were found, along with blocks of substance suspected as resin cannabis and other objects related to drug trafficking.

The man will be arraigned in Court today at noon, before Magistrate Dr Claire Stafrace Zammit LL.D.
