Man arrested in connection with drug trafficking

A 31-year-old Colombian man was arrested following investigations into suspected drug trafficking. He was arrested on Friday, at around nine in the evening, in Sa Maison.

This came after an investigation led to a search on the man, during which pills suspected to be ecstasy were found in his possession, as well as more than €1,000 in cash. A search was also carried out at his residence in Msida, where, apart from a further €2,000 in cash, the Police seized other substances suspected to be cannabis, ketamine, cocaine and MDMA, with an estimated value of around €21,000.

The Colombian man is expected to be arraigned in Court, charged with alleged drug trafficking, today at around half past eleven in the morning (11:30hrs) before Magistrate Dr Yana Micallef Stafrace LL.D.
