A 27-year-old Indian national, a resident of Paola, lost his life in a traffic accident which occurred today, at around 1145 hrs in Triq Tal-Ħandaq, Qormi.
Initial investigations showed that the man was driving a Toyota Toyace truck, which was involved in a collision with a DAF CF85 vehicle, driven by a 39-year-old man from Tarxien.
Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called to the scene, but unfortunately the man was certified dead on site.
Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed about the case and appointed an inquiry while Police investigations, together with those of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are ongoing.
