(PR 493/26)
Yesterday, during targeted patrols in Marsa areas known for drug use and dealing, Police arrested three individuals who were found in possession of 162 sachets containing suspected synthetic drugs.
On Triq Diċembru 13, officers noticed a woman acting suspiciously and approached her. While speaking with her, they observed her attempting to conceal something beneath a bandage on her leg. A subsequent search revealed 21 sachets of suspected synthetic drugs in her possession. The woman, aged 25 years and living in Marsa, was arrested.
The Police then accompanied her to her residence on Triq il-Ġerrejja for a search. Upon arrival, officers noted the presence of several individuals and entered the property, where they arrested two more people—a 32-year-old woman from Cospicua and a 34-year-old man from Niger, residing in Qrendi.
A search of the man’s bag uncovered an additional 141 sachets of suspected synthetic drugs, along with two mobile phones. A further search was conducted at his residence in Qrendi, where four mobile phones and three pills believed to be ecstasy were seized.
All three individuals were taken to the Police General Headquarters in Floriana for further investigation.
