Cyclist seriously injured in accident in Żejtun

Today, at around 1015hrs, the Police were informed that their assistance was needed in Triq id-daħla ta’ San Tumas, Żejtun.

The Police immediately went to the scene and there it resulted that an accident had occurred between a bicycle, on which was a 47-year-old man from Ħal Tarxien, and a DAF vehicle, which was being driven by an 82-year-old man from Mqabba.

The cyclist was given assistance by a medical team, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance and was certified with serious injuries.

Magistrate Dr Monica Vella LL.D was informed of the case and appointed a Magisterial Inquiry.

Police investigations into this incident are still ongoing.
