Today, at around 1300hrs, the Police were informed that a body was spotted in the sea, in an advanced state of decomposition, off the cliffs of Fawwara.
A Patrol Boat of the Armed Forces of Malta immediately went to the indicated location and after the body was recovered from the sea, it was taken to the Maritime Base, at Xatt it-Tiben.
Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed of the discovery and she appointed several experts to assist her in the inquiry she had appointed.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
