Arrested in Gozo in connection with drug trafficking

Two Libyan men have been arrested following an investigation in connection with alleged drug trafficking in Gozo.
 
In the past hours, the Police followed the two persons – aged 36 and 35 – where they were allegedly seen passing on packets to other individuals.
 
They were arrested at a residence in Valley Road, Marsalforn, limits of Żebbuġ, Gozo. From a search carried out at this residence, various packets of white substance, suspected to be cocaine with a market value of over €5,000 were found . Some 4,000 euro in cash were also seized, together with various other items related to drug trafficking.
 
The men are being detained under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in Court in the coming days. Magistrate Dr Simone Grech LL. D is leading an inquiry while Police investigations are ongoing.
