Today, at around 5:00 p.m. (1700hrs), an argument occurred in a block of apartments on Triq il-Wied, Żurrieq, between two neighbouring men aged 68 and 27 respectively.
During the argument, the 68-year-old man sustained injuries allegedly caused by a sharp and pointed weapon.
A medical team was called to the scene and assisted both individuals. Shortly afterwards, they were taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital. Later, the 68-year-old man was certified as having suffered serious injuries, while the 27-year-old man sustained no injuries.
The 27-year-old man is being held by the Police to assist with ongoing investigations, while Magistrate Dr Franco Agius LL.D. has been informed and has appointed an inquiry into the case.
