Argument in St Julian's

(PR 225/25 & PR 226/25) 

Update: All the teenagers were certified with slight injuries.

Earlier: Today, at around 0415hrs, the Police were informed that there is an argument in Triq Santa Rita, St Julian’s.

The Police immediately went on site where they found three men from the UK, aged 31, 36 and 55 years respectively, with some injuries allegedly caused by a sharp and pointed instrument. A medical team was called to the scene and they were taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

At the same time the police were informed that there is another argument in Triq Santu Wistin and found three youths arguing between them.

The Police intervened and arrested two Maltese youths, aged 18 and 17 years, with the latter being found in possession of a knife. Investigations revealed that they were arguing with another 18-year-old who had some injuries allegedly caused by a knife.

Further investigations showed that the two arrested persons were also involved in the argument which took place a little earlier.

A medical team was called to the scene again and ambulances took the 18-year-old victim, as well as the alleged aggressors to Mater Dei Hospital.

Later, two of the foreign men were certified with grievous injuries, the other was certified with slight injuries, while the condition of the others is still pending.

Magistrate Dr Ian Farrugia LL.D was informed about the case who opened an inquiry while Police investigations are ongoing.
