Today, at around 1745 hrs, the police were informed that a shooting took place in the area known as il-Kunċizzjoni, limits of Rabat.
Police went immediately on site, where they found two men, aged 51 and 57
residents of Siġġiewi and Rabat respectively, injured by injuries allegedly caused by a firearm.
A medical team reported on site and unfortunately certified the two victims dead.
The alleged 72-year-old aggressor, a resident of Zebbug, has been arrested by the Police at around 2030 hrs.
Preliminary police investigations showed that one of the victims is the son of the alleged aggressor’s partner, while the other victim is the husband of the daughter of the alleged aggressor’s partner.
Magistrate Dr. Joe Mifsud LL.D was informed about the case and appointed an inquiry.
