60 persons arrested during immigration inspections

(PR 357/24)

Over the last few days, including weekends, immigration enforcement has continued. In this operation, 60 people were arrested after they were found living or working in the country irregularly.

The arrested persons were all taken to a detention centre until the necessary preparations are made to return them to their country of origin or to the country in which they are permitted to reside.

For some of these inspections, the Police were assisted by officers from the detention services Agency.

Immigration-related enforcement is continuous, and will continue in the coming days, including through coordinated work by the Police force, together with other immigration entities, as well as employment agancies.
