200 kg cannabis resin theft

Earlier this morning, at around three (0300 hrs), the Police were informed that a container which was in the property of the Armed Forces of Malta in Ħal Safi had been broken into.

The Police went on site where it resulted that a container containing drugs, which is property of the Courts as part of an ongoing inquiry and which was being held by the Armed Forces of Malta, had its seals cut off and was also found forced open.

It resulted from investigations that around 200 kg of cannabis resin was missing from the same container.

Duty Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici was informed of the case, while Police investigations are ongoing.
