Another person arrested in connection with drug trafficking

After two men and a woman were arrested on the 7th November, who allegedly were operating a drug trafficking ring, Police investigations continued to identify more  individuals suspected of being part of this ring.

These investigations led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man from Gżira early this morning. Following an observation on his movements, where the Police noticed him contacting another person, the Police stopped him at Ta’ Xbiex.

A search was carried out on him where 40 sachets containing a substance suspected to be cocaine and a substance suspected to be cannabis resin were found. A search was also carried out at his residence where a bag containing more substance suspected to be cocaine and other objects related to the production of illegal substances was seized. The value of the drugs found amounts to around €5,000.

While Police investigations are ongoing, the man is expected to be arraigned in Court in the coming days.
