An investigation that led to the arrest and arraignment of a man on charges of drug importation and trafficking has also led to information regarding two Dutch men linked to the same crime ring.
After several days of investigation, the Dutch, a 34-year-old resident of Sliema and the other a 38-year-old resident of Mosta, were arrested.
A search in a residence in Triq il-Għajn, Swieqi, led to the discovery of various items related to drug use, 890g of amphetamine and 550g of Ketamine. Another search was carried out at another residence, this time in Nerik Xerri Street, Kirkop, where the police found more items related to drug use, pink pills, a packet of cocaine and a number of forged documents.
Magistrate Dr Philip Galea Farrugia LL.D was informed of the case and has appointed an inquiry, while the two men are being held at the police lock-up to aid in the investigations and are expected to appear in Court today, at around 1030 hrs, before Magistrate Dr Donatella Frendo Dimech LL.D.
