A 25-year-old man from Santa Venera and a 24-year-old woman from Cospicua were arrested during a traffic inspection in Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa.
Yesterday afternoon, while routine controls were being carried out, the Police stopped
a Kia Picanto, where the driver raised suspicion and was therefore asked to exit the vehicle.
From a search that was carried out on the man, an amount of cash was found, while various sachets containing substance suspected to be cannabis, as well as a sachet with a substance suspected to be cocaine were found in the vehicle and the passenger’s bag.The drugs were found in circumstances indicating that they were not for personal use.
Magistrate Dr Antoine Agius Bonnici LL.D was informed of the case and opened a Magisterial Inquiry.
