Return Operation
In the first days of the year, the Police successfully carried out a forced return operation of a man to his country of origin in North Africa.
 
In 2025, the man had been charged in court with offences related to theft and drug possession in St Julian’s, among others. He was found guilty and handed a two-year prison sentence suspended for four years.
 
Following the court ruling, a Return Decision and Removal Order were issued and the individual was held in a detention centre until all arrangements for his return were finalised.
