Police find 100 kg of drugs at Freeport

In another operation at the Freeport, on Wednesday evening, the Police found another 100 kilograms of drugs suspected to be cocaine, with a street value of around €14 million.

The drugs were found in about 50 packets hidden among cable rolls in a container which arrived in Malta from the Port of Guayaqil in Ecuador.

This drug discovery was made during continuous surveillance by the Police, as part of their efforts against drug imports whilst assisted by the Customs Department.

While the drugs were confiscated and the Police are carrying out investigations, an inquiry was appointed by Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia LL. D.
