More traffic controls by Police

(PR 20/25)

The Police force is committed to continue with regular traffic controls with the aim of safeguarding the safety of all those who use our roads.

During the festive period and during the first two weeks of the year, hundreds of vehicles were stopped and several summons related to traffic infringements continued to be issued. In particular, 84 vehicles were fined for speeding during the first two weeks of January, in various roads where Police inspections were carried out.

This exercise is being carried out not only to enforce traffic rules but also to improve road safety, particularly in areas known for high speeds which can endanger people’s lives. The Police remind drivers of the importance of observing speed limits and all traffic regulations, as non-compliance can have serious consequences, both for themselves and for other road users.

The Police force remains committed to continue working towards safer roads and calls for citizens’ cooperation in this regard.
