Man Seriously Injured Following a Fall

Today, at around 1030hrs, the Police were alerted to an incident on Triq it‑Tiġrija, Xagħra, Gozo.

Officers promptly arrived at the scene and from a preliminary investigations revelead that a 28‑year‑old Albanian man from Rabat, Gozo, fell approximately one and a half storeys while carrying out work activities.

A medical team was dispatched to the location and the man was transported by ambulance to the Gozo General Hospital for urgent treatment, where he was certified as having sustained serious injuries. He was later transferred by helicopter to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical care.

Magistrate Dr Monica Vella LL.D. was informed of the case, and an official inquiry has been appointed.

Investigations are ongoing and are being carried out by the Police, together with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority and the Building and Construction Authority.
