Man seriously injured following a fall

Today, at around 1430 hrs, the Police were informed of an accident in an apartment block in Triq Forrest, St Julian’s.

 

Initial investigations showed that an 18-year-old Syrian national, a resident of Santa Venera, fell from a height of about four storeys in the common area of the block while carrying out works.

 

Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called on site to assist and an ambulance escorted him to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where he was certified to have sustained serious injuries.

 

Magistrate Dr Renata Farrugia LL.D was informed and appointed an inquiry.

 

Investigations by the Police, together with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority and the Building and Construction Authority are ongoing.
