Man seriously injured after fall
A 29-year-old man, a resident of Ħamrun, was injured after falling into the lift inlet while carrying out works.
 
The accident occurred at around half past four in the afternoon (1630 hrs), in Notary Debono Street, Naxxar. Preliminary investigations showed that the man fell four storeys.
 
Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called on site to assist and an ambulance took him to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where he was certified to have sustained serious injuries.
 
Investigations by the Police, as well as those of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are ongoing.
 
Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL. D, is leading an inquiry, while Police investigations are ongoing.
