An 80-year-old man, a resident of Paola, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital at around 1200 hrs as he sustained some injuries in a traffic accident in Triq Ħaż-Żabbar, Paola.
From initial investigations it appears that the victim was hit by a Toyota Ractis, which was being driven by a 28-year-old man who lives in Żejtun.
The man was assisted by a medical team, taken to hospital by ambulance and was certified that he suffered grievous injuries.
Police investigations are ongoing.
