(PR 108/26)
The Police Force continues to strengthen its work within the community through a constant presence in the streets and direct engagement with the public, adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse and illegal activity in localities.
This led to the third arrest this week in connection with alleged drug trafficking and possession in Marsa, which took place yesterday evening.
At around 5:00 p.m. (1700hrs), the Police were informed that a man was acting suspiciously in Spencer Garden and was possibly selling drugs.
The man, a 42-year-old Niger national residing in Wied il-Għajn, was arrested after searches carried out on him resulted in the discovery of around 30 packets containing a substance suspected to be cannabis, a block of suspected cannabis, as well as a container holding a substance suspected to be cannabis resin, along with cash.
The man is being held in Police lock-up for further questioning and is expected to be arraigned in Court in the coming days.
The Police message is clear: this abuse will not be tolerated. The Police Force urges the public to continue cooperating and to report any information that may help ensure the community remains safe for everyone.
