Joint enforcement Work in Luqa

Yesterday morning, the Police, Transport Malta and Identità, assisted by the Agency for detention services, carried out a traffic inspection in Triq Garibaldi, Luqa.
 
Some 100 vehicles were stopped and a total of 28 traffic contraventions were issued, a vehicle was towed and two drivers were found driving without a valid driving licence.
 
During these inspections, three foreigners from Pakistan, Syria and Ghana were also found illegally living in Malta.
 
They were taken to a detention centre until the completion of their return process.
 
These inspections are part of the joint enforcement work that the police are regularly carrying out, with the aim of strengthening road safety.
