A 57-year-old man, and residing in Mosta, lost his life this morning in a traffic accident in Mosta.
The accident occurred at around 0700hrs in Vjal il-Qalbiena Mostin.
Initial investigations revealed that a collision had occurred between a Ford Transit driven by a 65-year-old man, residing in Dingli, and a KTM motorcycle driven by the victim.
The motorcycle driver was immediately treated by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Unfortunately, he was declared dead a shortly after.
Two minor children who were in the Ford van did not suffer any injuries while the driver was taken to the nearest health centre due to shock.
Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry.
Police investigations into this incident are still ongoing.
