Today, at around 0915 hrs, the Police were informed that their assistance was needed in Qormi Road, Luqa.
Police went immediately on site where it resulted that an accident had occurred between a bicycle, that was being used by a 71-year-old man from Kirkop and a Mercedes that was being driven by a 24-year-old man, a resident of Naxxar.
The cyclist was assisted by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
Later he was certified with grievous injuries.
Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
